Robert Useted’s commercial litigation
practice in federal and state courts at the trial and appellate
levels includes contracts, securities, negligence, attorney
malpractice defense, defense of class actions, insurance
coverage, trademark and unfair competition.
Mr. Useted’s employment law practice is
generally restricted to representing management in employment
litigation and counseling, including defense of employment
discrimination and other employee claims; client counseling
regarding personnel policies and their implementation; and
representation of both management and employees regarding
covenants not to compete.
Mr. Useted represents school districts on a
wide array of issues, including student discipline; special
education; residency; church/state issues; Office for Civil
Rights complaints; compliance with the Safe Schools Act, Privacy
Act and other federal and state statutes; advice on policies;
and the free speech, press, associational and religious rights
of students, teachers and personnel.
