Charles Elbert represents private and public sector employers in a broad range of labor relations and employment matters, including: arbitration; litigation, such as defense of employment discrimination, and other employee and administrative agency claims in Missouri and Illinois federal and state courts; internal investigations; covenants not to compete; equal employment, affirmative action and wage-hour; federal, state and local agency investigations and audits; union avoidance; NLRB and State Board proceedings; collective bargaining; employment policies and agreements; and, claim avoidance counseling.
Mr. Elbert’s commercial litigation experience in federal and state courts and in arbitration includes contract breach and interpretation, shareholder/member disputes, premises liability, real estate, and tax increment financing (TIF). He also has served as an arbitrator, special master and mediator in a wide variety of disputes.
Mr. Elbert’s general corporate and real estate practice involves entity formation; negotiating and drafting of business, employment and real estate contracts; acquisition and sale of closely held companies and real estate; drafting and review of loan documents; and closings.
